Cars in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers reported they were alerted by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then located many other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the public for information.

A senior representative commented the incident made him without words and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
